Woodcuts with Sean Starwars

Open to all levels. Beginners welcome!

Hang out and learn from Outlaw Printmaker Sean Starwars during this 3-day workshop at Bone Black Studio. Sean will instruct the group Friday night on how to draw or transfer an image right onto the woodblocks. Sean will give a brief talk outlining the role of the woodcut in art as well as showing numerous contemporary woodcuts. Saturday will be a cutting marathon and Sunday you’ll experience the thrill of seeing your block come to life as a completed multi-color woodcut! Bring some blank t-shirts so you can print your woodcut on them.

Course Outline :

Friday, February 6, 6-9 p.m.: Introduction, Slide talk, Image prep demo
Saturday, February 7, 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.: Working on your blocks
Sunday, February 8, 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.: Printing
