This piece developed from a watercolor painting I did inspired by a National Geographic photo of the back of a flower. What I love about the image is the idea of finding beauty in unexpected places and encouraging others to look for it. When creating this image I played with the colors to create a dramatic rich purple flower, transforming the mood of the image while maintaining the structure of the matrix.
